Synopsis
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler ends up in a high-profile job she’s ill-suited to, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers have convinced both American and non-American; the British government has allowed them to use real-life sets as locations for the series, including the still-new U.S. Britain allowed filming at the Foreign Secretary’s Office, a rare honor for any film or film production, especially an American one.

The only location that was unavailable was Winfield House, the current residence of the U.S. Ambassador. Although it is accurately described as the largest residential estate in London (11 acres) other than Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming.

). I have to admit I wasn’t planning on seeing The Diplomat, but after hearing so many great things about it and reading all the great reviews, I thought I’d give it a try. I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
I was hooked from the first episode
While Keri Russell was great in The Americans, I thought it was more about the script than her acting, so I wasn’t sure if she and Rufus Sewell could carry the show as the leads, but they do, they’re both fantastic here. . The chemistry between these two is what makes this show so good.
