Synopsis
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe..
The show moves the setting to the current era
The " Day of the Jackal" novel was set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on the then-President of France Charles de Gaulle. Referenced in Graham Norton likes: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024).
Perhaps this is because it is based on an old book(or tv show?) where this wasn't a concernAlso the 2nd issue, and probably larger one, is that the actress playing the detective lady is really unable to express herself and only has one facial expression
It is well done for the most part, the Jackals actor is very good here.It has some occasional scenes where I find it unlikely the Jacakal wouldn't have been easily identified by a security camera, such as in ep1 after the sniper shot when he walks out of the Hotel. At work?
Got shot at?
Blank stares. Blank stares.
Talking to daughter?
Black stare.
